Apex Legends - a fun 2 weeks, now I'm out

2 weeks since launch, and I'm uninstalling Apex Legends from my PC. I've enjoyed it, but it's not for me. Why? Because 2 weeks in, and suddenly the squad chat is getting filled with vile and insults and people taking shit farrrr too seriously - want to take it seriously? Squad up with some other like minded folk, not us randoms.

Frankly my time is too precious to continue playing a *game* where people shout and scream and throw insults around just because they're dead and you're not good enough to get them out of that situation. I can only laugh at such people's inadequecies and how they manifest as anger online, but what do I know Smile Maybe their gaming prowess is all they have going for them.

As I reminded one individual last night, it's a *video game*. The irony being that he was screaming at me to take his banner to a respawn point, but I'd actually recovered his banner already and the other squad mate was on his way to respawn him - as long as the banner is reclaimed anyone on the squad can initiate the respawn.

Was a microcosm of the XBox 360 Live experience back in the day; initially great, with friendly chatty people and everyone online happy to be there. Then the percentage of good guys diminishes and you're left with a sea of hatred and vile, and the kind of behaviour you just know they'd never dream of pulling in real life. Guess I'm old fashioned and play games for fun Smile

So I'm out. Greatly enjoyed the last 2 weeks.

Felt good to uninstall it and looking forward to getting back the daily few hours I was spending on it.
