I first played Guacamelee on the PS Vita. I got an hour or 3 in and couldn't defeat a boss. I tried and tried again, nothing.

I think it came on PS+ because sometime later the game was released on the PS4 and, presumably cross-buy, I ended up playing it on the PS4. First time on the previous unbeatable boss, I won. First time. What that showed me was despite my love for the Vita, the controls are not a patch on a proper controller.

I completed it on the PS4, including the Full Ending. There are.... I want to say 5 hidden Mexican Wrestler Mask pieces to find to get the Full Ending. I had 3, and needed to read up online to find the other 2. They were.... obtuse to discover. I still had to work for them, and I had some great platform moments in the game, including the challenge doors.

For me, it's a classic platformer.

It popped up on a Steam sale earlier this week, and I'm keen consolidate all my games to the open source PC platform, for longevity. So I picked it up. Amusingly, this coincided with the game getting played at home, so right now the kid is playing it on all 3 platforms Biggrin Very proud of him, this can be a tough game at times.

PC gaming being awesome, the first thing I looked for was Steam Workshop and voila, we had a co-op game going as Finn and Jake from Adventure Time. Love that show, having them in this game.... awesome dude.

Co-op is good fun and it handles the world light / dark switching nicely - you can even switch the world, or just yourself. It solves what would be constant arguing over world switching when doing the trickier platform sections Biggrin

And yes, the modders even themed the chicken-models accordingly, with Small Jake and BMO for Finn!!

Turn your back a moment though, and you realise your kids don't need you as much for gaming. Because in next to no time (well, just over 6 hours in game) and he's only gone and beaten the end of game boss! This took me two or three sessions when I played it, lol.

He still has to get all the orbs / Mask pieces, and then there's the hard mode to look at. And the challenge doors....

Hopefully everyone has played this, but if not - get on it.

Preferably with Finn & Jake.
